What is RTB?
Retain the Brains is a marketing plan competition for local college students, where the "product" to be marketed is the Greater Rochester Area and the target market is 18-28 year old men and women. Retain the Brains, (a positive spin on the term "brain drain") is this community's first opportunity for college students to market Rochester to themselves and their peers. It will be open to students at all area colleges, and has already gained the recognition and support of Greater Rochester Enterprise, the Greater Rochester Visitors' Association, and the Rochester Business Alliance.

Why?
We concluded the best way to expose our area college students and graduates was to encourage them to help expose themselves and their peers… with prizes for the team that does the best job!

Who can I contact for a story or interview, or just to learn more?
At the college level, select the appropriate college captain (select your school from the drop down menu above). You may also contact Mr. Peter Bruu or Mr. Christopher Burns here. Additionally, click here for a press release on RTB.

Who else is on board with this?
See our Sponsors

Who's competing in this competition?
Undergraduate students from our area colleges-those people closest to the decision point of staying in Rochester and creating a life, or choosing to do so elsewhere-the people we need most to keep here!

Are there prizes?
Yes, see the Prizes page

What will happen with the results?
One finalist from each school will present to local economic development leaders, marketing executives and CEOs, and the winning plan will have its messages and themes integrated into our area's "Rochester: Made For Living" marketing campaign. Sponsorships are also being sought to provide competition winners with additional incentives to remain in Rochester.
